You’re Invited!

Friends and community remind us of the light and good in the world. We need more of these reminders and connections with one another.
We invite you to gather with us for our 2026 Community Housewarming Party on Thursday, March 26th from 5:00–8:00 p.m.
Turning Passion Into Impact

“Home means everything to me. It’s a place for creativity, warm meals, joy, laughter. healing, and rest. It’s where people recharge, feel safe, and find the stability needed to move forward. Having a comfortable place to land at the end of the day can make all the difference in how we show up for ourselves and our communities.”
Our 2025 Impact

We are deeply moved by the trust you’ve places in us. In 2025, your kindness allowed 864 households to turn empty apartments into true homes. These aren’t just statistics; they are our neighbors finding the rest and dignity they deserve. We are simply the stewards of your generosity and invite you to see the full impact of our shared work.
Logan Alexander, Program Director 166 Riverside Shelter

“Furniture Friends is an integral part of our goal to help our shelter residents transition into safe, permanent housing. It would be nearly impossible for individuals moving from an emergency shelter to establish independent living without the necessary furniture to create the comfort of a home.”
Meet Nargiz Alizada

“Furniture Friends was so wonderful. I had saved money for the move, but with the uncertainty of securing employment and a work visa, I expected that it would be many months before we’d have the basics to live comfortably.”
Introducing our Newest Board Members

We are delighted to welcome and introduce you to four new members of our board of directors! And we want to thank our departing members, Jen Goldman and Leah Koch for their many years of leadership, commitments, generosity and service to our work and mission.
Meet Andy Bertocci

Andy Bertocci, lovingly referred to as “Andy Lamps” by the Furniture Friends team is a lifelong Mainer who grew up in Bath. Retired, he now lives in Yarmouth and since 2020 has been collecting discarded and damaged lamps to repair, and often rebuild completely into something new and beautiful for our neighbors.
Meet Claudette Ndayininahaze

“Furniture Friends has made a lasting impact on the lives of the women and families we serve, helping them create safe and welcoming homes that foster stability and growth.”
Bailey Pratt, LSW

We recently utilized Furniture Friends to support a community member that was transitioning from being unhoused for decades to permanent housing in the form of a small apartment. He had very limited funds to work with, and none of those funds were available to be utilized to furnish his space.
2025 Fall Update

Last year, Furniture Friends had over 912 furniture donations, resulting in a total of 6,667 items distributed to the community. We had hundreds of volunteers collectively donate over 4,129 hours of their time, and 488 donors gave financially to support our work.
