Donations Needed
Over the spring and summer months, our volunteers and team worked collaboratively to do outreach, schedule and pick up as much furniture as possible; particularly from schools, hotels, and motels renovating and donating their gently-used furniture. So for much of the summer and fall, our warehouse was stocked to the brim!
Now, as the colder months approach, we are quickly seeing our overstock begin to dwindle. We are in need of furniture donations across nearly all categories.
Here’s what we need and can accept:
- Mattresses and Box Springs (we can accept all but king sizes)
- Adjustable metal bed frames
- Dressers & Bureaus
- Couches, Loveseats and Chairs (nothing longer than 84 inches wide and 39 inches deep)
- Coffee and Side Tables
- Dining Chairs and Tables
- Lamps (both working and non-working!)
- Area Rugs (no larger than 8×10)
- Bookshelves & Desks

My mother in law has moved to assisted living and her children are clearing out her recently sold home. There are 3 sofas in great shape, 3 soft chairs, some end tables, a coffee table, and a couple small 3 drawer chests. The home is in Southborough Mass. I am willing to rent a U-Haul to pick up and drop off here in Maine. I’m looking at probably being available with help (family or a friend) to load the truck some time in the next couple of weeks. If you are interested let me know so I can schedule a day to rent the truck, drive down, load up and drive back to unload. My wife’s siblings are talking about paying for someone to come remove these great pieces and probably just throw them away. I would rather see someone that needs them have beautiful furniture rather than fill up a landfill with completely usable furniture.
