Dear Friends,
It is with a full heart that I write to share the news of my decision to retire as Executive Director from Furniture Friends effective November 1, 2025. I first joined the organization as a volunteer in 2013 and celebrated my 10th anniversary on staff last summer, with the last eight years serving as Executive Director. It has been the honor of a lifetime to lead this grassroots, mission-driven organization—one that truly changes lives.

Taylor Taliaferro, Furniture Friends Board President, joined RadioHaylstorm in the studio to talk about our mission to provide essential household furniture to families in need across Greater Portland. Catch the interview where Taylor shared our 2024 impact–serving over 900 households with donated items like mattresses, dining tables and more. Click below to listen!

Check us out on the WGME ARC Maine segment this morning, as our Executive Director, Jenn McAdoo shares all about our work and 6th Annual Slumber Party!

Diana passed away on Feb. 24th, 2024 at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with ALS. Diana was born in Everett, MA to Norman and Joyce Lobley. Her parents moved back to Maine, where they were originally from, and Diana attended Greely High School in Cumberland and then went on to Endicott College.
Diana worked for the phone company and later took a job at L.L.Bean in Freeport. This was the beginning of a more than 30-year career working in supervisory positions for the iconic Maine outdoor retailer.
